Shield Bedwetting Alarm Basics

Shield family has two alarms—Shield Max (8 alert tones) and Shield Prime (1 alert tone).

Shield bedwetting alarms use 2 AAA batteries. Always use fresh batteries in your Shield. Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not use rechargeable batteries.

For daytime storage, disconnect the sensor from the Shield bedwetting alarm unit. The lights, sounds and vibrations of the alarm unit will stop. The alarm unit enters standby (power save) mode. Store the alarm unit and sensor in a cool dry place.

Your Shield is designed to have an ultra-long battery life. If the sensor is disconnected when not in use, the batteries should last a year or longer.

Setting up your Shield Bedwetting Alarm System

Fasten the alarm unit to the outside neckline or around arm with optional armband accessory (sold separately).

Clip the sensor to the outside of your child’s undergarment.

Now, run the cord under your child’s shirt and insert sensor plug into sensor jack of the alarm unit.

If using a diaper, first attach the sensor to the outside of your child’s undergarment and follow instructions in the previous section. Wear the diaper on top of the attached sensor so that the sensor is sandwiched between the underwear and diaper.

Shield bedwetting alarm can be programmed with one program button that allows you to choose from sound and vibrate, sound (only) and vibrate (only) mode.

Absolutely! Many parents prefer using diapers with Shield bedwetting alarm as an extra precaution to prevent soiled sheets.

Reinsert the sensor into the alarm unit to begin monitoring for bedwetting events again.
