OdorZyme Instructions for Use

Directions

Concentrates: Mix the bottle of OdorZyme with the described quantity of water listed on the bottle to provide the ready to use amount you ordered. For best results, DO NOT OVER DILUTE! Note: Shake well! Some settling may occur if the bottle is left stationary for long periods of time. Apply with a clean household or garden style pump sprayer. (Be sure there are NO chemical or soap residue left in the sprayer from previous use.)

Check fabrics for colorfastness in an inconspicuous area. OdorZyme is designed to be safe on any water-safe surface, but we always recommend you test an area first!

Use OdorZyme first! DO NOT mix or use other cleaners or chemicals at the same time as OdorZyme – this will reduce its effectiveness! For best results, if other soaps or chemicals have already been used, rinse repeatedly to remove all traces and allow to dry completely before using OdorZyme!

OdorZyme must come in contact with all urine deposits on the surface as well as under the surface. Urine will also travel and spread in areas like carpet, bedding and other absorbing materials. Different problems will require different techniques. Note: Urine odors may intensify with the initial application. This is a sign that the urine deposits are “lifting” and being broken apart by the bio-enzymatic action.

It is best to SATURATE the affected areas with OdorZyme so that it comes in contact with the urine. OdorZyme must remain wet long enough for the bio-enzymes to complete their work on the urine crystals. The more absorbent the material, the more OdorZyme will be needed.

If urine deposits are heavy, very old, or other urine odor/stain products have been used, more than one OdorZyme treatment maybe required.

Check below for common odor and stain problems.

1. Carpet & Rugs

OdorZyme coverage area: This will depend on how big the problem area, thickness of the carpet and pad. It is important to SATURATE the affected areas) through the carpet, pad and the sub floor. If the area is the size of a baseball we recommend SATURATING with OdorZyme the size of a basketball in order to reach all the urine deposits that may have traveled below the surface. No scrubbing required!

Use OdorZyme on urine affected areas before shampooing or professional carpet cleaning. If you have used carpet cleaning solutions, chemicals, soaps or home remedies prior to using OdorZyme, rinse as much residue away with clean water before using OdorZyme. Other chemicals, etc., left in the carpet may require multiple applications to totally rid the odors and stains.

1. First, identify the areas to be treated and estimate amount of urine deposited. (Single occurrence vs. repeated soiling).

2. For new urine deposits, soak up as much of the urine liquid as possible. An absorbent material such as wadded paper towel is both effective and disposable.

3. Mix each bottle of OdorZyme with the described quantity of water listed on the bottle to provide the ready to use amount you ordered. Note: You may dilute stronger solution if the odor and stain problem is older or extremely strong.

4. Saturate the contaminated area thoroughly with OdorZyme . The OdorZyme bacterial enzymes must come into contact with the contaminants in order to completely digest the source of the offending urine odors. Use enough product to penetrate the carpet, carpet backing, padding through to the sub-flooring (i.e. plywood/OSB/concrete).

5. Allow OdorZyme to air dry. As a bio-based product, bacterial cultures need to stay in a moist environment in order to reproduce, multiply and consume contaminants. After OdorZyme is completely dry and all odor has been eliminated, you may rinse with clean water or clean the area to remove any residue and to help prevent future resoiling of the area.

6. Repeat as necessary. Since uric acid crystals can build-up in layers over time, it may be necessary to repeat the procedures listed above until all stains and odors are removed.

7. If possible, on heavily saturated areas or difficult stains, treat and cover area in plastic (a plastic garbage bag will do the job). This will help retain moisture, extending the working “life cycle” of the bacterial cultures.

8. When replacing old carpeting, treat the entire sub floor (i.e. plywood/OSB/concrete) with OdorZyme after the old carpeting is removed. This will eliminate any urine odors that may have been previously inaccessible.

* Special Note: Older “set” stains may not lift completely due to acidic “etching”. Unfortunately, prolonged exposure to uric acid may actually “burn” carpet fibers beyond repair. If this has happened, nothing will remove the damaged area.

2. Pre-Wash

OdorZyme is used by nursing homes, hospitals and families as a pre-wash to remove urine, feces, and any organic stains. Excellant for those who use diapers.

1. Soak the affected clothing with OdorZyme.

2. Place the clothing in a plastic bag and let the OdorZyme work overnight.

3. Remove clothing and wash as usual.

3. Drapery

1. Check fabrics for colorfastness in an inconspicuous area. OdorZyme is designed to be safe on any water-safe surface, but we always recommend you test an area first! First, identify the areas to be treated and estimate amount of urine deposited. (Single occurrence vs. repeated soiling).

2. For new deposits, soak up as much of the liquid as possible. An absorbent material such as wadded paper towel is both effective and disposable.

3. Spray enough OdorZyme to wet the affected area and let air dry. Re-apply if necessary until the odor and stains are gone. If washable, the drapery can be washed or drycleaned after removing the odors.

4. OdorZyme will also remove smoke odors from drapes and fabric. Spray the affected areas and let air dry.

Special Note: Older “set” stains may not lift completely due to acidic “etching” of the fabric. Unfortunately, prolonged exposure to uric acid may actually “burn” fibers beyond repair but OdorZyme will remove the odor.

4. Furniture & Bedding

Due to the absorbent nature of furniture, matresses and upholstery cushions, urine contamination on these surfaces can be especially troublesome. However, by following the guidelines found below, stains and odors on these surfaces can be successfully removed.

1. First, identify the areas to be treated and estimate amount of urine deposited. (Single occurrence vs. repeated soiling).

2. For new deposits, soak up as much of the liquid as possible. An absorbent material such as wadded paper towel is both effective and disposable.

3. Mix each bottle of OdorZyme with the described quantity of water listed on the bottle to provide the ready to use amount you ordered! Note: You may dilute stronger solution if the odor and stain problem is older or extremely strong.

4. Saturate the contaminated area thoroughly with OdorZyme. For best results, the bacterial enzymes must come into contact with the contaminants in order to completely digest the source of the offending odors. Use enough product to penetrate the fabric surface through to multiple layers of padding, to the spring coils and finally to the opposite side (depending on how much urine was deposited).

5. Allow to air dry. As a bio-based product, bacterial cultures need to stay in a moist environment in order to reproduce, multiply and consume contaminants. After completely dry and all odor has been eliminated, you may rinse with clean water or clean the area to remove any residue and to help prevent future resoiling of the area.

6. Repeat as necessary.

Note: Urine odors may intensify with the initial application. This is a sign that the urine deposits are “lifting” and being broken apart by the bio-enzymatic action.

On heavily saturated areas or difficult stains, treat with OdorZyme and cover area in plastic (a plastic garbage bag will do the job). This will help retain moisture, extending the working “life cycle” of the bacterial cultures. Treat area and leave overnight.

If furniture cushions have removable covers, remove; treat fabric, and launder/dry clean as recommended. Treat exposed cushion material and allow to air dry. This procedure will eliminate any odors that may have been previously inaccessible.

Special Note: Older “set” stains may not lift completely due to acidic “etching”. Unfortunately, prolonged exposure to uric acid may actually “burn” fabric fibers beyond repair.

5. Hard Surfaces (concrete, hardwood floors, linoleum, and tile & grout)

OdorZyme penetrating action works excellent on hard surface flooring such as concrete, hardwood floors, linoleum, and tile & grout. The cleaning procedures for hard surface flooring are as follows:

Directions for use:

1.Identify the area to be treated.

2.For new deposits, soak up as much of the liquid as possible. An absorbent material such as wadded paper towel is both effective and disposable.

3.Mix each bottle of OdorZyme with the described quantity of water listed on the bottle to provide the ready to use amount you ordered! Note: You may dilute stronger solution if the odor and stain problem is older or extremely strong.

4.Saturate the affected area. In the case of wood flooring, it is better to repeat the procedure several times than to introduce too much moisture at one time.

5. Allow to air dry. As a bio-based product, bacterial cultures need to stay in a moist environment in order to reproduce, multiply and consume contaminants. After OdorZyme is completely dry and all odor has been eliminated, you may rinse with clean water or clean the area to remove any residue and to help prevent future resoiling of the area.

Note: Urine odors may intensify with the initial application. This is a sign that the urine deposits are “lifting” and being broken apart by the bio-enzymatic action.

For heavily saturated areas or difficult stains, treat with OdorZyme and cover area in plastic (a plastic garbage bag will do the job) for no longer than one hour. This will help extend the working “life cycle” of OdorZyme bacterial cultures.

Note: Urine can damage wood and may appear a black color. OdorZyme will not repair damaged areas. This will require sanding or removal of the damaged areas.

6. Rodent Problems

OdorZyme penetrating action works excellent on odor and feces left behind from rodent. The key to ridding the odor is reaching the source of the odor. In order to do this the area must be saturated with OdorZyme. Use in walls, attics, or anywhere rodents have left their mark.

1. Identify the area to be treated.

2. Mix each bottle of OdorZyme with the described quantity of water listed on the bottle to provide the ready to use amount you ordered! Note: You may dilute stronger solution if the odor and stain problem is older or extremely strong.

3. Use either a hand pump sprayer or fogger to saturate the affected area and let air dry. Allow to air dry. As a bio-based product, bacterial cultures need to stay in a moist environment in order to reproduce, multiply and consume contaminants. Repeat as necessary until OdorZyme has reached and removed all the odors.

Note: Urine odors may intensify with the initial application. This is a sign that the urine deposits are “lifting” and being broken apart by the bio-enzymatic action.

7. Smelly Sneakers

OdorZyme is great for keeping those smelly sneakers smelling fresh. Just spray and let air dry. If washing your sneakers use OdorZyme as a pre-wash. Spray, place on a plastic bag overnight and wash as usual.
